Flag Request

Rep. Waxman is happy to arrange for an American flag to be over the U.S. Capitol for his constituents. Flags may be flown on any day of the year and for special occasions or events. Each flag that is flown is accompanied by a certificate confirming that it was flown over the U.S. Capitol. The certificate reads: "This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United States Capitol on [Month, Date, Year]. At the request of the Honorable Henry A. Waxman, Member of Congress, this flag was flown for [occasion]." You may request additional text personalizing the certificate to commemorate a certain occasion (i.e., birthday greeting, retirement, Eagle Scout award, etc.).

Flags made of either cotton or nylon can be purchased in different sizes, listed below. Because of the large volume of flag requests, it typically takes 4-6 weeks from the date of your request for the flag to be delivered. Rep. Waxman’s office must receive a check made payable to 'Henry Waxman Stationery Account' before the requested flag can be shipped.
