The House Judiciary Committee Minority Staff Internship Program is available to both undergraduate and law school students interested in spending a semester in Washington, D.C. learning about the legislative process. The House Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over a wide range of legislative and oversight issues including national security, criminal law, constitutional amendments, federal courts, civil liberties, immigration enforcement, litigation reform, intellectual property, and antitrust, to name a few. Qualified applicants are strong writers and communicators, have experience working in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to work for the Republican staff of the Committee.

Internship applications should include a current resume, list of references, and letter of introduction which contains the following information:

• Why you are interested in working for the House Judiciary Committee
• Your dates and hours of availability
• A brief description of your political views, specifically on issues under the Committee’s jurisdiction

Interested candidates should be aware that there is a Majority (Democrat) and a Minority (Republican) office within the committee. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply with the office which most appropriately reflects their political views.
