As an intern in my Washington office, students assist in a wide range of activities, including assisting staff members with research projects, responding to constituents' requests, and helping out with general office duties. In the Tennessee offices, interns assist my staff as they resolve problems that individual Middle Tennesseans are having with the federal government. They also work on research projects and can help the staff with a variety of other tasks.
Internships are available throughout the year. College students and recent graduates interested in applying for an internship should download and fill out the application form (to download, click here and save the file to your computer). Upon completing the application, e-mail or mail it with a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to the appropriate person listed below:

Note: Although internships in Tennessee and Washington are unpaid, most college students can get credit for volunteering in my office. Also, while my Tennessee offices accept high school interns, the Washington D.C. office only provides internships to college students and college graduates.
