WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerry Moran announced today that Simone Cahoj of Atwood is serving as a congressional intern in his Washington, D.C. office this fall. Cahoj is a 2007 graduate of Rawlins County High School and plans to graduate in 2011 from the University of Kansas with a degree in business management and leadership studies. Cahoj is the daughter of Larry and Suzanne Cahoj of Atwood.

“Congressional internships offer Kansas students a great opportunity to learn about Congress and the legislative process,” Moran said. “Simone is doing important work for Kansans and gaining valuable experience that will help her in the future.”

Cahoj will return to the University of Kansas this coming spring to complete her undergraduate coursework. Upon finishing her studies, she will pursue a post-graduate program in either entrepreneurship or public policy.

“I am so thankful for this opportunity to work for Congressman Moran,” Cahoj said. “While working in Washington D.C., I have discovered a new passion for politics and the legislative process. After serving Kansans in the First District from the local level, I have enjoyed developing skills as a public servant at the national level.”

Cahoj assists Moran with legislative and administrative duties on behalf of the people of Kansas.
