We anticipate an extremely high volume of visitors for the popular Cherry Blossom Festival March 27- April 11, 2010. Although we will make every effort to accommodate your request, many tours will be full and unavailable during these popular dates. We recommend requests be submitted early and in advance. Please be aware that the White House does not accept tour requests fewer than 28 days before your requested dates and the State Department requires at least 90 days before your requested dates.   White House Congressional tours of the White House are available Tuesday-Saturday from 7:30 am -12:30 pm. Time slots are chosen by the White House. Please note that White House tours are completely at the discretion of the White House Visitor's Office. I will do my best to secure a reservation for you and your party, but again, the White House makes the ultimate decision on tours of the building. The White House will be closed to tours from January 4-20, 2009. In order for the White House Visitors Office to consider any tour requests I submit, your information needs to be in my office at least one and a half months in advance of the tour. The required security information is Social Security number, date of birth and full name as it appears on ID for all members of your party.   US Capitol Building If you are interested in touring the U.S. Capitol, my staff can be of assistance to you. My office conducts staff-lead tours of the Capitol Monday through Friday during normal business hours. If you are interested in a staff lead tour, please fill out the form above. Also, the Capitol Visitor Center is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. Tours of the U.S. Capitol are conducted from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., Monday through Saturday by the Capitol Guide Service. House and Senate Galleries are open when the Chambers are in session.   Bureau of Engraving and Printing The Bureau is responsible for the printing and designing the nation’s currency, U.S. postal stamps, official invitations, and ID cards. During the tour, you'll see millions of dollars being printed. The tour features the various steps of currency production, beginning with large, blank sheets of paper, and ending with wallet-ready bills! Public Tour: 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (every 15 minutes). Extended Summer Hours (APRIL-AUG): 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. (every 15 minutes) & 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (every 15 minutes). Ticket Booth: 8:00 a.m. until all tickets are gone. Visitor Center (Enter at 14th & C): 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. My office can attempt to schedule a tour for you if you contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-3671.   State Department The Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the Department of State, which are used for official functions hosted by the Secretary of State and other high level government officials, are open for pre-arranged tours at no charge. These rooms hold a premier collection of 18th century American furniture, paintings and decorative arts. Guided tours are conducted Monday through Friday at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, and 2:45 pm. Tours are 45 minutes in duration. Reservations are required and should be made approximately 90 days in advance, due to the large volume of requests. My office can attempt to schedule a tour for you if you contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-3671. This is a fine arts tour. We do not recommend the tour for children under the age of 12. Strollers are not permitted and there are no facilities for storage of personal belongings. Wheelchairs as well as sign language interpreters are available upon request with advance notice. Please indicate your requirement in the additional comments section of the form prior to submitting your request.   Supreme Court Supreme Court tours are given at 2:00 p.m. Monday-Friday when the court is not in session. My office can attempt to schedule a tour for you if you contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-3671. Each Congressional office is limited to two total bookings per day per office, and a maximum of four guests per day. Due to official court business, tours may be cancelled at any time and latecomers cannot be accommodated. The Court is open to the public 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Public tours are given on a first-come, first-served basis from 9:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m., every thirty minutes on the hour, every weekday the court is not sitting. Library of Congress Congressional tours of the Library of Congress are held Monday-Friday at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Arrangements must be made at least two weeks in advance of your visit for a staff-arranged tour. Public tours are held Monday-Friday at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 3 pm. National Archives The National Archives Building is where you can see the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. The hours for the Rotunda vary depending on the time of the year: Spring and Summer March 15 - Labor Day 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Fall and Winter Day after Labor Day - March 14 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Find out more about the National Archives
