Our nation faces a tremendous challenge in modernizing our energy policy, which we see every day through higher gas prices for hardworking families and higher energy costs to heat our homes and power America's small businesses. But with this challenge comes great opportunity to create jobs and grow the Upstate economy.
America has always been a place of unmatched innovation and technology, and I firmly believe that we can solve America's energy crisis with our talented workforce. That is why I am a strong supporter of developing green energy solutions, as well as nuclear power, which will grow our economy by putting New Yorkers back to work.
Upstate New York is already leading the way on nuclear power and green energy, with significant investments in wind, solar, biomass and other renewable fuels. As a Member of Congress, I will continue to support these initiatives and work with local leaders to develop an energy plan that benefits Upstate communities.
