Water Resources Development Act (WRDA)

The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works intends to begin its work on the next Water Resources Development Act (WRDA). WRDA is the authorizing legislation for the program and projects of the civil works program of the Army Corps of Engineers.

Water resources projects typically included in WRDA include those with completed Chief of Engineers reports, modifications to existing Corps of Engineers’ projects, study authorizations for new projects, and miscellaneous projects consistent with the Corps’ program and demonstrating a Federal interest. Projects authorized under WRDA are subject to cost-sharing defined in statute and range from 20 percent to 100 percent non-Federal share depending on the project’s purposes.

If you would like to submit a project request for WRDA, please click here. This application will create a JOINT submission to Senator Webb and Senator Warner for the Water Resources Development Act. Both offices will receive your application and it will be reviewed jointly.

The deadline to submit WRDA requests is 5pm on Friday, May 7, 2010.
