FY 2011 Appropriations Requests

The annual appropriations process allows Senator Warner to work closely with his colleagues in the Virginia Congressional delegation in support of projects that are important to the Commonwealth of Virginia and our nation.

The requests that we submit to the Senate Committee on Appropriations are in accordance with the proper constitutional role that Congress performs in the federal appropriations process. We examine projects for the Commonwealth of Virginia to ensure they represent a wise and prudent investment of tax dollars. Furthermore, our office conducts its appropriations work in a manner that is open, transparent and fair to all Virginians. We welcome appropriations requests from all Virginians--whether represented by advocates or not.

If you are a town, city, or county government, your application must include an official resolution from your government board or council in support of the requested projects.

This year Senator Warner and Senator Webb will be jointly reviewing all Appropriations requests.  Only one request will need to be made which both offices will receive.

All applicants are encouraged to also contact the member of Congress who represents the district in which the funds would be spent to submit requests to be considered by both the Senate and House appropriations committees.

Please note that not all requested projects are funded. The appropriations process is intensely competitive and the Senate Appropriations Committee ultimately decides which projects receive funding.

The deadline for submitting Appropriation requests for FY 2011 has passed.
