Quote of the Day

"The U.S. economy expanded at a faster clip than initially forecast in the third quarter, helped by more robust consumer spending and by stronger exports. The economy grew at a 2.5% annualized pace in the quarter, revised up from the initial estimate of 2.0%, the government said in its second estimate of quarterly gross domestic product. GDP growth was 1.7% during the second quarter.”
- Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch, 11/23/2010

Below is a list of all the earmark requests I have submitted for consideration in the FY2011 budget process. While all projects cannot be funded through the federal budget, the appropriations process is one way that we can help ensure that a fair share of our tax dollars are returned to our area to fund projects that provide jobs and improve our communities.

As you know, our national, state and local budgets are under extreme pressure, and there has been discussion at the federal level about whether to freeze, cut or eliminate congressional earmarks. Our area has many pressing needs, and if possible I will continue to pursue earmarks for our area.
