Pence sees Afghanistan situation as improving
By Kirk Johannesen

U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., spent two days in Afghanistan to get updates on progress in the war against terrorists, in advance of a report that the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan will issue in December.

In Pence’s opinion, the situation has improved.

“I heard from rank-and-file soldiers and Afghanis that the situation is a lot better than a year ago,” Pence said Monday during a conference call, while still in Dubai on his return home.
