Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s Third District highlighted today a new report by the Department of Energy that details the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act on clean energy projects in Nevada.  According to the report, Nevada has received nearly $569 million in funding for projects such as renewable energy generation, weatherizing homes and businesses, rebates for Energy Star appliances, and modernizing electricity infrastructure.

“Investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency is critical to our efforts to diversify Nevada’s economy and put people back to work,” Congresswoman Titus said.  “The funds in the Recovery Act have increased our ability to utilize our abundant renewable resources and created jobs that cannot be shipped overseas.  Investments in clean energy that have both created jobs and lowered energy costs for Nevada’s families and businesses are a win-win for the Silver State.”
