Fair Sentencing Signing

The Fair Sentencing Act, which marks the culmination of a decade-long effort of Senator Sessions, will result in fairer drug sentencing guidelines for crack and powder cocaine.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has placed three different versions of the DREAM Act on the Legislative Calendar and has indicated he will seek a vote during the lame-duck session of Congress. In addition to immediately putting an estimated 1.3–2.1 million illegal aliens on a path to citizenship (a number expected to grow since the bill has neither a cap nor a sunset), the DREAM Act will also give them access to federal student loans and federal work-study programs. One version would even give them access to in-state tuition rates for which many U.S. citizens are not eligible.
