OBAMA-REID AMNESTY PLAN BACK ON SENATE CALENDAR FOR LAME-DUCK SESSION

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has placed three different versions of the DREAM Act on the Legislative Calendar and has indicated he will seek a vote during the lame-duck session of Congress. In addition to immediately putting an estimated 1.3–2.1 million illegal aliens on a path to citizenship (a number expected to grow since the bill has neither a cap nor a sunset), the DREAM Act will also give them access to federal student loans and federal work-study programs. One version would even give them access to in-state tuition rates for which many U.S. citizens are not eligible.
