Small businesses play a critical role in growing the economy and creating new jobs, and more than 73 percent of businesses here in the East Valley are considered small businesses. I believe it is essential to provide these businesses with current, pertinent and relevant information to help them grow and succeed. I was pleased to recently host a free, small business workshop designed to connect entrepreneurs and small businesses with these useful resources. It was such a success that I have created this resource page to allow you to benefit from the information that was provided. With both large and small businesses being hit by the downward economy, now is the time to reinvest in our businesses to enhance their strength and stability. Business Provisions of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) IRS, Small Business Self Employed Division The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), enacted in February, created, extended or expanded a variety of business tax deductions and credits. Because some of these changes-the bonus depreciation and increased section 179 deduction, for example-are only available this year, eligible businesses only have a few months to take action and save on their taxes.
