NEW ORLEANS - Congressman Anh "Joseph" Cao (LA-02) met Friday with President Obama at Armstrong International Airport shortly after the President's arrival aboard Air Force One.

Cao encouraged the President to keep up his personal interest in the BP oil spill and its devastating potential for the people of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish.

The President assured Cao he will continue to take a personal interest in the situation and do all he can to protect the Gulf Coast from the encroaching slick.

Cao expressed his appreciation to President Obama for his ongoing hard work and cooperation to resolve the crisis.

Cao said, "For the past year and a half, President Obama and I have enjoyed a good constructive working relationship.  It's my job to make sure he understands the unique needs of Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District, particularly now, when we are counting on his assistance and leadership."

Cao was among the delegation of VIPs to greet the President upon his arrival in New Orleans.
