The Academies give consideration to academic record, class rank, athletic participation, SAT/ACT scores, and extracurricular activities and leadership experiences.  In addition to your SAT or ACT test scores, please have your high school submit a sealed copy of your high school transcript to my Sierra Vista office, and obtain three letters of recommendation from your teachers, high school principal, counselors or coaches.  The service academies require that Members of Congress submit nominations by January 31st for the class that will enter the following summer.  Because it takes quite a bit of time for me and my academy selection committee to evaluate each candidate’s records, I am establishing November 3, 2010 as the deadline to have your completed file in my office.  Please do not hesitate to call my Sierra Vista office at 520-459-3115 if you have any questions or concerns.
