A Resolve To Fix The Economy
Posted By: Brian PatrickNovember 30, 2010
  • "We're walking in this room with the realization we're not going to agree with the president on everything," he said, "but I do hope we leave this meeting with a resolve to address the economy." Cantor said this is no time to raise tax rates for anyone, particularly at a time when the government is trying to jump start job-creation across the country.
  • "In the past, when we have private meetings with the president, he has rarely missed the opportunity to lecture us for our political or ideological beliefs," Cantor said Monday. "I'm hopeful that those days are gone."

Posted By: Brian PatrickNovember 30, 2010
  • “I’m hopeful that we’re going to hear from the president a willingness to reflect what the people spoke on Nov. 2, and that is, ‘Stop it,’” House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), who is counting the days until he takes over as majority leader, told POLITICO. “Stop the policy agenda you’ve been about over the last 20 months, and let’s go about seeing if we can return to a situation where we can see some [economic] growth prospects again,” he warned Obama.
  • “The unified Republican position is that we don’t believe tax rates should go up on anybody when you’ve got so much unemployment and unwillingness and uncertainty surrounding the investment environment right now,” Cantor told POLITICO.

Posted By: Brian PatrickNovember 19, 2010

FYI –

Vice President Biden believes that Americans view President Obama as aloof because he is “so brilliant.” Could it be that they just don’t support his agenda? No-Sir-Ree-Bob. It must be because people just aren’t smart enough to comprehend President Obama’s brilliance. The new post election White House message: When Americans don’t support President Obama’s agenda, it’s because of their own stupidity.
