The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure is in the process of drafting a new surface transportation authorization to replace the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) (P.L. 109-59), which expires on September 30, 2009. This legislation will authorize funds for the improvement to our nations' federal interstate highway system and urban public transportation systems. It is expected that a small percentage of funds will be available to fund High Priority Projects (HPP) within the 9th Congressional District. In the spirit of greater transparency and accountability, I have provided a description of all the projects that have been submitted.
