Visiting Washington

A visit to Washington, DC is an exciting and rewarding trip.  I am pleased to be able to provide services to constituents when they are planning their trip.  Our office can provide assistance in possibly obtaining the following tours:

United States Capitol
  • Capitol tours are available Monday through Friday throughout the day.  For information about Capitol tours, please visit http://www.aoc.gov/cc/visit/index.cfm .  You can contact our office to schedule a tour, or you could self-schedule your own tour by visiting  http://tours.visitthecapitol.gov/welcome.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 .

The White House
  • Our office is able to request a tour of the White House.  White House tours must be reserved between 2-6 months in advance.  These tours are available Tuesday through Saturday.  Please note that White House tours are in very high demand, and very difficult to obtain.  While we cannot guarantee a tour, our office highly recommends that you submit your request 6 months in advance to improve your chances of touring the White House.

Bureau of Printing and Engraving
  • We are able to assistant in obtaining passes to see the paper currency of the United States being printed.  Tours available Monday through Friday.  Congressional tours often fill up fast so be sure to visit http://www.moneyfactory.gov/locations/section.cfm/20/21 for information on obtaining tickets if a Congressional tour is unavailable. Please note that requests must be submitted between six and twelve months in advance during peak dates (March - September).  Contact our office for more information.

Pentagon
  • The home of the Department of Defense is available to constituents on a very limited basis.  Contact my office and we will process a tour request. Requests must be submitted at least one month in advance and no more than 90 days in advance.

Kennedy Space Center (Currently unavailable)
  • Although not in Washington, DC those constituents of Illinois’ 14th Congressional District visiting Cape Canaveral, Florida may be able to obtain complimentary passes to the center by contacting our office.  These passes are very difficult to obtain so please consider an alternate way of visiting the space center if a complimentary tour is not available.  More information on tickets can be found  http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com
