Rep. Kingston, Thought you should know that for the first time in my life, I -- a registered Republican -- voted a straight Democratic ticket. I do not like the direction that the right wing Conservatives have taken my party. I side with the Eisenhowers, who were on Matthews' "Hardball" the other night. They advocate the "moderate" position. I concur. Thank you. Dr. Carolyn Babcock

Her's a thought toward security. First, STOP BUYING OIL FROM PEOPLE WHO HATE US!!!!! When will our congress and representatives (who only represent themselves) grow some balls, and stop catering to big oil, and put more o an initiative on green energy. We solve so many problems by not sending 70% of all our budget money to other countries. Secondly, as a Savannah resident, I see all those shpscoming in from China, loaded to the gills with product, and NOTHING going out. We have shipped all of our JOBS over seas too. Thnk about it.

Your pledge to keep our Nation secure at home and abroad shows that your priorities are in the right place. The present policy which seems to want to make friends with our enemies (Iran-etc) rather than protect Americans is a policy that should be changed immediately. The new Health Care plan is a joke and certianly needs serious attention, as does the jobs-economic situation. Thre present administration does not seem to get it as to what Americans want, as is evidenced by the candidates in Florida who want to bring absolute change; but they are being lied about at every turn. It is my hope that in 2012, we have developed policies which give us something positive to run on, rather than being like the present administration, which have nothing positive, so their only approach is to attempt to discredit the other side. Keep working for us and we will continue to support you.

Wish you would have had all these concerns when President Bush was in office. Maybe 9-11 would have never happened and then we wouldn't be in two wars, one for terrorism and the other so Bush's friends could make lots of money. And then we would be broke! And why is it that you seem to love the military while they serve but don't vote for nearly anything for them as vets. My husband is a disabled vet so we definately watch your voting record for veterans and to tell you the truth, it stinks! What are you going to do for the unemployed that have run out of benefits and can't find a job anywhere? And with that goes their healthcare in many cases and we all know how you feel about that. Just tell us what you plan to do for Americans.

How about taking some of these defense funds you propose and fund intelligence operations instead of missle systems which will be obsolete before they are ever completed. Develop Arabic speaking personnel en masse. Get out of Iraq. Get out of Afghanistan. Never, never, never again offensively attack a sovereign nation (ie Iraq, not Afghan.). If the Republicans make big gains in the upcoming elections, don't regress to the same old same old. Cut entitlement programs to the bone. DO THE RIGHT THINGS FOR OUR COUNTRY, NOT THINGS TO GET RE-ELECTED. You are there to serve, not for a career. Chip Higginbotham (a right-leaning independent)

Get the young people back in school or put them to clean the streets until they realize school and their education is better than the streets.... The teen centers are o.k. but they are still alittle trouble if not carefully keep check on the in and outs.. Get more of the parents interested in their children, maybe they can learn something.. I some strict rules for my girls, and if they broke them, they knew they could not talk me out of it...Thank the Lord I am very proud of them.... You have my vote anyway... Thanks Ann Hughes

We will never be truly secure until we get control of our borders. Why do we have standing armies in Europe when they all should be brought home to secure our borders. Not only would this make our country safer but how many millions of dollars are we spending to keep them there. Does this government realize that there are parts of Arizona that have signs telling "Americans" not to enter due to illegal aliens and drug smugglers. This is nothing short of insanity.

Dear Jack: Churchill said: 'Study history, for within it lie all the secrets of statecraft'. I remember the Reagan Revolution and what a HUGE difference it made to this country. Finally Americans STOPPED feeling like the red-headed stepchildren of the world and became, once again, the STRONG and POWERFUL nation that we truly are. Americans do not have the burden of royalty or aristocracy beyond that which is created by the media. For the past 2 years we have seen the financial and geopolitical mess which has been created by the current administration and majority in Congress. I commend our Georgia Representatives and Senators who have consistently voted against most of the nonsense that has passed through country. As such, I plan, as an Independent Conservative voter to continue to support those who have truly represented the wishes of the people here in conservative Georgia. What you have described in 'The Pledge' and its accompanying Plan looks and sounds very much like what Reagan was able to accomplish after the mess of Watergate and the Iranian embassy. There is no reason to think that it cannot be done again. Make it so! The whole world is watching... Sincerely, Rene W. Neville, RN

His insight to the severity of the terrorist problem we face is instrumental to securing our nation now and in the future. We need more people like him fighting for our rights, liberties, and securities. I am so excited to see our congressman backing such a crucial part of our legislation. Considering the current administration and their actions, Congressman Kingston will need every supporter he can get. Security is ours if we allow it. Thank you Congressman for all that you are doing to keep us safe. May God bless you and your work while serving the American people.

If I were to encounter an illegal immigrant who was hurting, sick or hungry, I would help that person BUT our illegal imigrant problem has reached ridiculous proportions. It is past time to take care of it. What is it that people do not understand about "illegal"?. We see the names and pictures published in the newspaper. We see where many illegals live - we know the addresses. If there whereabouts is known and they are illegal, why are they not picked up and returned to Mexico or whereever else they came from? We should have buses going back to Mexico every day. You say "it would cost too much". There would be some cost involved but it would be more than covered by the savings in health care costs.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! ********************************** Congressional Reform Act of 2010 1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below.. A. Two Six-year Senate terms B. Six Two-year House terms C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. 4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

I worked for Western Electric in 1969 on the SAFEGUARD Missile defense system, which was an off-shoot of the old Nike-Hercules and Nike-Ajax Systems. Reagan changed the name to Star Wars in the eighties to protect the guilty. The system has wasted billions of dollars in tax money and is no closer to working today than in the sixties. When will you politicians wake up and ask for some accountability from the military and their contractors,or is it just more fun to wave a flag and thump a Bible?

You might want to pass the word to all your collegues, that if you all don't do what is right for this country, you may be seeking another job, next time. ! I, and a lot of others are tired of the same old Washington ! Reverse everything that has passd in the last two years, before it completely bankrupts the nation.! And don't apologize for doing the right thing on immigration, tax cuts, repealing this atrocious health care boondoggle ! Then, maybe this country can pull ourselves out of this mess, Mr Obama has put us into ! And Why hasn't a VALID birth document ever been produced ? Mr Obama isn't sure which hospital he was supposedly born in, and there appear to be no records at either one he claims ?

Jack, I have been and will continue to be one of your supporters. I want to list a few facts for my fellow Georgians regarding Illegal Aliens in our Country: 11 to 22 billion dollars annually spent on their welfare; 2 billion for food assistance; 2 and 1/2 billion on Medicaid; 12 billion to educate their kids; 17 billion for American born aliens education; 3 billion a day to incarcerate aliens; 30% of Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens; 90 billion a year for welfare and social services; 200 billion a year in suppressed American wages caused by illegals. Then top this off with a million sex crimes caused by illegal aliens yearly and boy, do we have a problem??? The last total I saw last week was $338 Billion a year. Jack, we cannot afford this. DO SOMETHING!

The "Pledge" is reasonable. The problem is the federal government has put its fingers into every aspect of our lives (pushing states constitutional rights and responsibilities aside). We've heard about tax cuts but spending has to be cut also. No one wants to talk about what must be cut. Here are some starters: 1. Cut back on food stamps (they don't budget with them and most eat better than those in the middle class). Maybe just provide basic healthy foods. The children are eating breakfast and lunch at school for "free" and probably are double payed with the stamp program promoting abuse. 2. Cut out free high speed internet, free cell phones, free cheese, free, free, free... nothing in life is free. None of these are required to live. If free housing is provided, something should be required in return. Idle people turn to drugs, crime, etc. 3. Phase out the unemployment payments (many are not even looking for anything but the monthly checks). Incentives have to be in place to get businesses to hire. 4. In the DOD (and probably all branches of government), we need to reinstate oversight of all contractors. Contracting with the government is actually the biggest cash cow in the country. They get a contract then pick it apart with legalities to get more funding. All contracts should be closely worded and monitored. Contracts should not allow law suits. 5. Tort reform is absolutely necessary to control health care costs. 6. Health insurance companies should be encouraged to provide tiered coverage or option selections. (States should handle this) These are just starters.......... I'm sure you can find more!

How much of your plan is constitutional? You swore to uphold and defend the Constitution of Georgia and of the United States of America. Are you doing that? Can you honestly look me in the face and tell me that every piece of legislation you have personally voted for is Constitutional? That's one of the problems with America today. We have a Constitution to protect our God-given rights from those we have chosen to represent us and they are ignoring it rather than OBEYING it. I think we ought to go through the laws and put them through the CONSTITUTION TEST. If they are unconstitutional ; we ought to get rid of them. I want my republic back!! You and all the other politicians took an oath. Did you mean it or were you just repeating words that meant nothing to you? Show me something Mr. Kingston. Show me that the oath you took upon entering office means something. Show me that you value the trust placed in you by your constituents.

Dear Congressman Kingston: With a little luck, the Republican Party will enjoy historic gains in congress on November 2. This really will be the time to change the federal government in a significant way, and I hope that "the Pledge" will be the framework to make that happen. Therefore, I urge you: do not blow it. The American people will have put a lot of faith in you and your colleagues. Keep in mind that we (at least I) want to see reduced federal intrusion, smaller budgets, fewer employees, less bureaucracy, more emphasis on the federal government working for the states, ad infinitum. Make this happen and you will have the gratitude and support of the people for a long, long time. If you do not make it happen, your credibility will be even lower than Barack Obama's is today.

Don't start "tweaking" with the obomanation we call Health care. Get RID of it! We have already been warned by this administration that "they know how we vote." Immagine the scenario in which the Government has our medical records - and know how we vote . . . I wonder who will recieve vaccinations and medical help first in times of plague or famine? Governments have shown throughout history, that whatever horrors immaginable will be acted out upon their own people if they are allowed too much power. Mind the Constitution. Help the people of this State to be soverign and independant from predation by it's own federal Government and do what you promised, to protect our borders. Why do we scan people at airports and leave 7,0000 miles of border unprotected? How pointless is that? The border issue has nothing to do with discrimination. Because you are on the Subcommittee on Agriculture - How did you allow a citizen of your state to be fined for growing a garden and giving away produce? How are we to act out our rights as citizens if we are not allowed the independance to grow a garden or give away our own property? How is that helping your constituants? We need independance and freedom - not more smothering Government controls.

Jack, the southern border needs to be sealed from one end to the other to start. The wall needs to be constructed like a set of prison walls with guard towers. There needs to be listening devices implanted in the ground to detect underground activity and there shhould be no movement of trucks from Mexico beyond 500 yds of the border to a secure compound. And at the same time eliminate born in America makes you an American law. Then the parents stay and here comes others most from and illegal stand point. This country can not sustain more residents. If you remove the illegals there will be very low single digit unemployment.
