| World War II vet honored with medals |

Laconia Citizen LACONIA — A World War II veteran received his wartime service medals, 65 years after the war ended. Herbert Gray received the American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal, in a ceremony held Monday at the Woodside building in the Taylor Community. Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter hosted the formal medal presentation ceremony. Gray served in the Army Air Corps, as a radio-operator-gunner, and as a radar operator on anti-sub patrols. |
