(Orlando, FL) – Today, following the announcement that there will be no cost of living adjustment for Social Security benefits next year, Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas (FL-24) released the following statement:

"I am deeply disappointed in the announcement that there will be no cost of living increase this year for Social Security recipients. Social Security benefits provide a vital safety net for Central Florida's seniors, many of whom are still struggling as our economy continues to recover. I urge my colleagues to quickly pass the Seniors Protection Act, legislation I co-sponsored that will provide a $250 payment to Social Security beneficiaries who will receive no inflation adjustment this year. This important legislation will provide critical assistance to these members of our community and I encourage swift action when Congress returns to session."
