Page Program

The U.S. House of Representative Page Program offers high school students the unique opportunity to experience Congress in action and assist in official House duties. Rather than working in an individual Member's office, pages work as a team on the House floor with their peers from around the country. Duties include messaging important documents, aiding members and staff on the House floor, running errands from building-to-building and various other activities. All pages live at the page residence hall on Capitol Hill and school term pages attend page school.

Workday–School year workdays begin immediately following the last class at the page school. It extends to at least 5:00 p.m., or until after the House adjourns for the day, depending on whichever is later. Summer workdays begin at 9:00 a.m.

To be eligible to serve as a page, all applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins and have a cumulative grade point average of "B" (3.0 or 85/100) or better in all major courses (English, science, mathematics, social studies and foreign language) to date.

Applications requirements include:

  • Social security number
  • Signed parental consent
  • Official High school transcript
  • A 100-word essay on why you want to be a page
  • Resume of extracurricular activities
  • Three letters of recommendation
