Will Tour Fab 8 Construction Project, Discuss Economic Growth in Tech Valley

Malta, NY, Oct 22 - On Monday, October 25th, Congressman Scott Murphy (NY-20) and United States Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke will discuss economic development in New York’s Tech Valley with executives from GlobalFoundries. Following the discussion, Murphy and Locke will tour the GlobalFoundries Fab 8 project. The discussion will focus on GlobalFoundries’ positive impact on the region – as the largest project of its kind in the United States, a future exporter of cutting-edge technology, and its role in attracting additional innovative companies to Upstate New York.

Murphy has been working with private industry and communities throughout the 20th District to build upon his plan to Renew Upstate New York's economy.

Parking is available at the M + W U.S., Inc. field office, located at 400 Stone Break Road Extension. To reach the lot from Route 9 in Malta, turn on to Stone Break Road and head east into the Luther Forest Technology Campus. Take the second right turn at the roundabout and head up the hill toward the Fab 8 construction site. The parking area will be on the right before you reach the construction entrance.
