2010 Congressional Art Competition
Congressman Murphy has begun accepting submissions for the annual Congressional Art Competition - "An Artistic Discovery" - at his district offices.  Any interested high school student in the 20th Congressional District is invited to participate.

High School students will have the opportunity to submit artwork to one of Congressman Murphy’s district offices.

In years past, Members of Congress have selected the winning entry.  This year, the winning entry will be determined by the communities of the 20th Congressional District through an online vote.  Congressman Murphy hopes you and your students will participate in this exciting opportunity to honor the artistic talent of our community.

The winner will have his or her submission sent to Washington, D.C., to be displayed for one year as part of the national student art exhibition in the U.S. Capitol.  The contest is a nationwide endeavor to showcase students’ artistic abilities.  Every year, winners are chosen from Congressional districts from across the nation.

A reception will be held on Thursday, June 17th, 2010, in the Cannon Caucus Room of the U.S. House of Representatives to honor the winners.  All travel and lodging arrangements are the responsibility of the winners and their guests.

For entry into the art competition, students should bring their artwork and a completed Student Information and Release Form to one of Congressman Murphy’s district offices.

The Release Form can be found here.
