Representative Tom McClintock Announces Three Merit-Based Awards

Congressman Tom McClintock announced that Community Recovery Resources, Inc.– a substance abuse and mental health services agency in Grass Valley, the City of Alturas Police Department and the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians have been awarded competitive grants through the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities Program.

“These projects were selected for funding on the basis of merit through a competitive process,” McClintock said.  “I am pleased that hard work and dedication of the recipients resulted in these awards.”

The Awards

Center for Hope

A $9,317,000 loan to Community Recovery Resources, Inc. of Grass Valley will be used to build the Center for Hope in order to provide care for families and individuals fighting addictions and struggling with mental health issues. 

 Tribal Health Program

A $13,600,000 loan to the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians will be used to construct a facility to expand medical services in the county and the surrounding area.  The Shingle Springs Tribal Health Program is one of three facilities in the El Dorado County area that accept Medi-Cal patients.

Alturas Police

The City of Alturas Police Department will receive a $38,210 grant to purchase an electronic records management system.
