Brown Welcomes Boeing Decision to Locate
Dreamliner Parts Facility in North Charleston

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC) welcomed Boeing’s announcement that it had chosen North Charleston, SC as the location for the new 787 Dreamliner interiors fabrication facility. In response to this announcement, Congressman Brown made the following statement:

“I have always said that last year’s announcement was a first step, not a capstone and Boeing’s decision to locate their Dreamliner interiors fabrication facility in North Charleston is welcome news for the Lowcountry and the entire state.

The skilled workforce of South Carolina’s First District stands ready to meet the needs of this facility, and any other facility Boeing sees fit to move to the Lowcountry.  Our outstanding system of technical education schools will continue to work in conjunction with Boeing to offer specialized training to meet Boeing’s needs.

I look forward to the groundbreaking and completion of this facility and thank Boeing for their continued confidence in the hard-working people of South Carolina to help them produce the 787 Dreamliner.”
