Internships - South Carolina & Washington, DC

My office is always accepting resumes from college students interested in interning for academic credit.

By assisting the Congressman's District Staff in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach offices, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about how a Congressional office provides constituent services and interacts with the community.

Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with the legislative staff members. Interns also play a critical role in helping the office meet the needs of constituents who are visiting Washington, DC by assisting with tours of the Capitol. There is also the opportunity to attend hearings, briefings and other policy events occuring in Washington.

All internships are unpaid and candidates who are chosen for the Washington, D.C. office may be responsible for paying their travel and living expenses. While our office cannot provide you with housing, we are happy to point you in the right direction as much as well can. Additionally, interns in any office can arrange to receive academic credit for their work.

My internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major. For internships in Washington, priority is placed on South Carolina residents, especially those from the First District.

Interested candidates should contact one of my offices and ask to speak to the Intern Coordinator.
