As the daughter of a World War II veteran and the niece of soldier lost during the war, Rep. Kilroy is dedicated to securing benefits for veterans in central Ohio. She is working with the staff at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, Ohio to ensure that it receives the highest level of satisfaction from the patients it serves.
Rep. Kilroy is also working to ensure that eligible veterans receive the education benefits available to them under the bipartisan Post 9/11 GI Bill. Congresswoman Kilroy believes that this bill will open many doors for veterans who are looking to enter the job market and is doing all she can to facilitate her constituents with their applications and inquiries about the program.
Our armed service personnel sacrifice so much for our security and so do their families. Rep. Kilroy is a proud co-sponsor of the Military Surviving Spouses Equity Act that offers annuities for the surviving spouses of former military personnel who are entitled to military retired pay. Rep. Kilroy understands that military spouses are equally as dedicated to our country as their partners are, and deserve appropriate compensation should their spouse die in service to our country.
