Homeland Security

As a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, Rep. Kilroy has made the nation’s security a priority. She has worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure our airports and cities, our neighborhoods and our ports are secure. The role of the federal government first and foremost is to provide the vital security needed to keep all of us safe.

Border protection is also vital to our security as a nation. Border patrol and other enforcement efforts must have the resources they need to prevent illegal immigration and other movement across the border.

Recently, a new effort is underway to secure the sensitive technology infrastructure that remains vulnerable to cyber attacks both foreign and domestic. Working with federal authorities Rep. Kilroy will concentrate on protecting against the threats to our national interests.

Rep. Kilroy also knows that federal support for our local officials in the event of a natural disaster in central Ohio, whether flooding, tornadoes or other incidents must be effective and efficient should tragedy strike. Preparing our first responders and providing them with the tools they need to keep us safe is one of her priorities.
