Transforming our economy will depend on investments that also transform the way each of us use energy, and what types of energy are at our disposal, both at home and in the workplace.
Rep. Kilroy voted for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that dedicated $100 billion in green technologies to start America’s seismic shift away from fossil fuels, towards renewable sources and away from a dependence on foreign oil. Some of the funding will require research to be done right here in central Ohio at The Center for Automotive Research at the Ohio State University, designing the next generation of batteries for electric cars.
The transformation of energy production will create thousands of clean energy jobs right here in America. Rep. Kilroy will not let China or Europe beat us to these jobs like they did with the new generation of cars.
Ohio is positioned to make the solar panels, wind turbines and bio mass products that will power our nation in the very near future. Ohio’s agricultural sector can provide the plant material needed for the bio mass products that will help power our nation in the very near future.
