Education

As a former member of the Columbus Board of Education and the mother of two public school students, Rep. Kilroy is committed to providing quality public education for students in central Ohio.

Rep. Kilroy believes that education is a national priority and that we must invest in education reform to ensure the strength and success of our economy. Rep. Kilroy supported the Recovery Act which makes key investments in education and allocates over $1.6 billion dollars to Ohio to fund education reform and teacher training.

Rep. Kilroy worked her way through college and law school so she is dedicated to making college more affordable for all families. On July 1, 2009 students and their families will see an increase in education aid because of Rep. Kilroy’s work through the Pell Grant initiative and other subsidized federal student loans. More college graduates in America will help our nation compete in a 21st century economy.
