I have named Betty Kletrovets of Grove City, Ohio as Buckeye of the Month.
Betty works all year to collect donations for her backpack campaign to ensure that local school children have the supplies they need to be successful in school. This year, Betty and other community volunteers prepared 8,200 backpacks for the current school year. During these tough economic times, Betty’s selfless work lightens the financial burden on many families who cannot afford to purchase new supplies for their children. I’m so pleased to name Betty as our September Buckeye of the Month. Her backpack campaign allows thousands of students to begin the school year with confidence.
Betty was nominated by her friend and fellow volunteer, Sharon Richwine.
I received a number of worthy candidates in the nomination process. Preceding nominations will be rolled over to be considered for October's Buckeye of the Month in addition to new nominations. Nominees should be individuals from the 15th District of Ohio who volunteer in their local community or have made a positive impact on others through their career or charitable work.
