In the 111th Congress, Democrats are committed to fighting for rural Americans and ensuring their needs are a top priority.

I was honored when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid created a post in the Senate Leadership dedicated to rural issues and named me Chair for Rural Outreach. As the daughter of a seventh-generation farm family born and raised in the Arkansas Delta, I know firsthand the challenges facing rural America.
