Democratic Policy Committee
The Democratic Policy Committee (DPC) is the policy and research arm of Senate Democrats.  Established by an Act of Congress in 1947, the DPC serves as a centralized source of information for all Senate Democratic offices and helps promote Democratic policies through hearings, special events, publications, and graphics services. The DPC is chaired by Senator Byron L. Dorgan (D-ND).

Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee
The mission of the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee is to build support for Democratic policy positions. We do this by:

  • Creating dialogue and relationships between the Democratic Caucus and community leaders;
  • Communicating and promoting Democratic policy priorities to outside organizations;
  • Ensuring coordination and amplification of the Democratic message; and
  • Coordinating leadership message events with the House Democratic Caucus.
