Congressional Page Program

Apply to be a Congressional Page for the 2010 summer session of the U.S. House of Representatives

Democratic Page Program!

Application Deadline:  April 12th

Join other students from across the country to live and work (and get paid!) in the United States Capitol.

When Is It? and What Will It Cost?  The program runs from July 11 – August 6, 2010.  Your housing, most meals, and tickets to attractions in the city are provided; you are responsible for your travel to and from Washington, DC, occasional weekend meals, purchasing your uniform (gray dress pants or skirt, navy blazer, white button-up shirt, and comfortable black shoes), and spending money.

What Will I Be Doing?  You will work full time in Congress for matters concerning the democratic House Members.  Your job duties rotate, so you get to experience a number of tasks.

What Are The Requirements?  A Page serving during the summer term must have completed the 10th grade and not yet entered the 12th grade. The Page may be a rising junior or rising senior with a strong academic record and a strong work ethic.  Do you need to know a lot about how Congress works?  No!  That’s why you come – to find out.

How Do I Apply?  You will need to submit the following:

-a completed application (available at castor.house.gov under “Students”)

-an official school transcript

-3 letters of recommendation (at least one needs to be from a current teacher)

-a 250 to 300 word autobiographical essay to help us get acquainted with you and why you would like to be a Congressional Page

***All completed applications must be received by our office by April 12th.  Please send all materials at one time to:

Attn: Page Program
