Putting America Back on the Job

The Finance Committee is focused on job creation and Chairman Baucus will continue to craft legislation that gives businesses in Montana and across the country the help they need to grow and hire new workers. Baucus co-wrote the Small Business Jobs Act, recently signed into law by President Obama, aiding small businesses by expanding access to capital, helping them invest soundly, making targeted tax cuts and promoting entrepreneurship.

Pushing China on Trade, Currency

Chairman Baucus recently traveled to China to meet with Vice President Xi Jinping and other top economic and trade officials to discuss the future of the U.S.-China economic relationship.  Baucus pressed China to address its currency undervaluation, ineffective intellectual property rights protection and enforcement, policies favoring home-grown, or “indigenous” innovation that discriminate against American companies and unjustified restrictions on beef and other U.S. agricultural products.
