Chairman Henry A. Waxman today lauded the release of new rules that require health insurers to spend a substantial portion of premium dollars for health care services and assuring quality care.

In light of another report highlighting the systemic failures that led to the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster, Reps. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) are inviting new BP CEO Bob Dudley to testify before the Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  Rep Waxman chairs the full committee, and Rep. Markey chairs the subcommittee.

On June 26, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act.  The legislation would create millions of new clean energy jobs, enhance America’s energy independence, and protect the environment.  And it would reduce the deficit by billions of dollars over the next decade.
