Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry A. Waxman issued the following statement in response to guidance released by the Environmental Protection Agency to help states and local authorities implement permitting programs for greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act. “Administrator Jackson has shown once again that the Clean Air Act works to protect public health without harming industry. This common-sense approach encourages large new plants to be more energy efficient. That's a win-win strategy to reduce pollution and save companies money in a tough economy.” |
