Rep. Linda Sánchez Receives 100% Rating from Human Rights Campaign

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Linda Sánchez received a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign on its scorecard for the 111th Congress. The Human Rights Campaign is a civil rights organization seeking equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.

“I’m proud to support legislation that promotes equality and fair treatment for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals,” said Rep. Linda Sánchez. “Fairness and equality are important constitutional principles, and justice in America should not be determined by sexual orientation or gender identity any more than by color, race, religion, or national origin.”

The Human Rights Campaign reviewed nine votes in the House of Representatives to determine its rankings this year. The legislative topics reviewed this year include hate crimes, healthcare, national defense, employment discrimination, and family reunification.
