The Eleventh District is composed of all of Carbon County; all of Columbia County; part of  Lackawanna County consisting of the City of Scranton and the Boroughs of Blakely, Dickson City Ward 1 (Division 1), Dunmore, Jessup Ward 3 (Division 1), Moosic, Old Forge, Olyphant Wards 2, 3 and 4, Taylor and Throop; part of Luzerne County consisting of the Cities of Hazleton, Nanticoke, Pittston and Wilkes-Barre and the Townships of Bear Creek, Black Creek, Buck, Butler, Conyngham, Dennison, Dorrance, Fairview, Foster, Hanover, Hazle, Hollenback, Hunlock, Huntington, Jackson, Jenkins, Nescopeck, Newport, Pittston, Plains, Plymouth, Rice, Salem, Slocum, Sugarloaf, Union, Wilkes-Barre and Wright and the Boroughs of Ashley, Avoca, Bear Creek Village, Conyngham, Courtdale, Dupont, Duryea, Edwardsville, Exeter, Freeland, Hughestown, Jeddo, Laflin, Larksville, Laurel Run, Luzerne, Nescopeck, New Columbus, Nuangola, Penn Lake Park, Plymouth, Pringle, Shickshinny, Sugar Notch, Swoyersville Ward 3, Warrior Run, West Hazleton, West Pittston, White Haven and Yatesville; and all of Monroe County.

Major cties in the district include Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Congressman Kanjorski's hometown of Nanticoke, as well as Hazleton, Pittston, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Bloomsburg, Berwick and East Stroudsburg. 

The Susquehanna River, one of America's most historic rivers, runs though the 11th Congressional District. The river is used by many for fishing, boating, swimming and other forms of recreation. Congressman Kanjorski is working with elected officials, neighbors of the river and local environmentalists to clean up the final stretches of the Susquehanna to return it to pristine condition for the residents of the 11th Congressional District.

Congressman Kanjorski has made economic development one of his major issues since being elected to Congress. He is dedicated to helping improve the industry and infrastructure of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Major employers that have expanded to Northeastern Pennsylvania with the Congressman's help include: Fairchild Semiconductor, the United States Social Security Administration, the United States Postal Service, Sallie Mae, Techneglas, Schott Glass Technologies and many other companies.

Bloomsburg University, East Stroudsburg University, King's College, Marywood University, Penn State, the University of Scranton, Wilkes University, and College Misericordia, Lackawanna College and Luzerne County Community College are among the colleges and universities encompassed in the 11th Congressional District.
