Transportation and Infrastructure

As the only Member of Congress from Northern California to sit on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am proud to influence America’s transportation priorities. California’s Bay Area has the second worst traffic conditions in the nation, and the 10th Congressional District is at the epicenter of these problems. The 10th Congressional District links the Bay Area to Sacramento, the Central Valley, and beyond, and its roads service one of the largest commuter populations in the nation.

We must improve the region’s dilapidated highway infrastructure, but I am also a fierce advocate for public transportation and smart growth. The district is serviced by seven Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stops, an Amtrak Capitol Corridor stop, and numerous bus services. In Congress, I will continue to fight for increases to the federal public transportation budget, and I am a relentless advocate for the BART expansion to Livermore, the eBART expansion to Antioch, regional bus rapid transit, and livable communities.
