REPRESENTATIVE DRIEHAUS WELCOMES NEARLY $12 MILLION FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

WASHINGTON, DC—Representative Steve Driehaus today welcomed an announcement by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) of an award of $11,881,843 for Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The grant will support quality improvements and comparative effectiveness research.

“This is excellent news for Children’s Hospital and a smart investment in the hospital's cutting edge research. Children's Hospital is at the head of the field when it comes to developing new ways to improve patient care and treat challenging illnesses.  These funds will help Children's as they continue their important work,” said Rep. Driehaus.

This funding will support a project entitled “Building Modular Pediatric Chronic disease Registries for QI and CE Research,” and will be under the direction of Dr. John J. Hutton.  Dr. Hutton serves as professor of pediatrics and internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
