More Than 1,200 Refund Checks to Oregon Residents Have Been Returned as Undeliverable

Blumenauer: “Families Waiting On Their Refunds Must Update Their Address With The IRS.”

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Earl Blumenauer released an annual report from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on undeliverable refunds in Oregon. The report, which covers refund checks returned to the IRS due to refund errors, indicates that 1,203 taxpayers in Oregon are owed refunds totaling $1,104,238 – an average of nearly $1,000 each.

“For more than a thousand Oregon taxpayers, the check is in the mail – but it cannot be delivered,” said Blumenauer. “Families still waiting for their refund checks must ensure that the IRS has their current address information or risk losing out on nearly $1,000. I urge anyone concerned about the status of a refund check to go to www.IRS.gov and use the ‘Where’s my Refund’ tool to track it down. Don’t let a mailing error deprive you of your refund.”

Taxpayers without internet access can also call 1-800-829-1954 to check on a missing refund.

In order to receive his or her undeliverable refund, all a taxpayer has to do is update his or her address. The IRS will then send out any check that is due.
