Project Requests Submitted to the Appropriations Committee by Congressman Blumenauer for Fiscal Year 2011

List of all 2011 appropriations requests

As we begin 2010 facing stark economic prospects, federal support for job creation and local investment is more important than ever.  Although the appropriations process has been abused in recent years by corrupt lobbyists and politicians, Congress has worked to curb these egregious abuses by requiring unprecedented public disclosure.  We have also reduced earmarks over forty percent since 2006.

I wholeheartedly supports these reforms, because enhancing the integrity of the process protects the public dollar and addresses critical needs identified by local communities.  As we all work to stabilize the economy, I will focus on projects that will be of maximum benefit to the people of Oregon; have regional support, leverage funds, create jobs, and serve as models.

All applicable appropriations requests that have been submitted to my office are now available on my website. The Democrats in the House have made the decision that no funding will be appropriated for private for-profit businesses. The requests that I have submitted to the appropriations committee can be viewed here or downloaded (PDF).
