10-1-2010 - Congressman Djou Attends Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Commemoration Ceremony

“Today’s ceremony marks the beginning of a new era for Hawaii and the United States. By combining these two storied bases into one installation, we are not only streamlining operations and reducing government waste, but we are enhancing our nation’s security.”

“It is important for all levels of government and all government agencies, including the Defense Department, to find greater efficiencies and root out government waste. Today's union of Pearl Harbor and Hickam as a joint base marks an important step in maximizing taxpayer resources. I look forward toward continuing to push our local, state and Federal governments to more wisely use tax money.”
