Delahunt Announces Funding For Head Start On Tuesday

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep Bill Delahunt will join Tuesday with Quincy Community Action Programs (QCAP), Mayor Tom Koch and the Archdiocese of Boston to present the QCAP’s Head Start Program with a check for $1,000,000 in federal funding for the new Head Start Early Learning Center.

This will be a consolidated facility that will serve over 240 children.  Services will be provided for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families.  The communities that will be served include: Hull, Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree, and Milton.

The event, which is open to the media, starts at 12:30 PM on Tuesday March 2, at the Saint Joseph’s School. Delahunt and local officials plan to walk through the project site which will be completely renovated.

The site visit will be followed by a check presentation.
