“Making a commitment to serve our country, particularly in a time of war, is a serious obligation. Given the variety of demands placed on our armed forces, I am privileged to nominate such accomplished students,” Delahunt said. “All of these young people are deserving and I particularly wish to commend their families and teachers for fostering their sense of community and service.”
All the prospective nominees were reviewed by Delahunt’s Congressional Service Academy Selection Committee, comprised of eight distinguished area residents. Receiving a nomination completes the first stage of the Service Academy process. The applications of these students have been forwarded, without preferential listing, to the respective Academies, which make the final appointment decisions.
