Panel To Hear About FBI Role In Interrogations At Guantanamo Bay

WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday, Congressman Bill Delahunt, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights, and Oversight will hold the fourth in a series of hearings and briefings to examine the prison at Guantanamo Bay.

Tomorrow’s hearing will examine the report from the Office of the Inspector General at the Justice Department, “A Review of the FBI's Involvement in and Observations of Detainee Interrogations in Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, and Iraq.” The report, released to the public on May 10th, describes the interrogation techniques used by the military at Guantanamo through the observations of FBI officers.  The abusive treatment so offended some FBI personnel that the they opened a “War Crimes,” file to investigate matters at Guantanamo.
