Delahunt To Sponsor Weymouth Forum On Federal Grants

04/16/2008

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Delahunt announced this week that he will sponsor a public forum in Weymouth next month, with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to help non-profit organizations and municipal officials navigate the complex process of applying for federal funding.

“Our workshop is designed to demystify the federal funding process and help local organizations identify potential funding resources using the latest online resources,” Delahunt said.  “With local organizations facing growing demands for services and fewer resources, every dollar counts.”

The forum on applying for federal grants is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6th at the Emerson Conference Room of the South Shore Hospital at 55 Fogg Road, Route 18 in Weymouth.

On hand will be representatives from Delahunt’s office and the US Department of Health and Human Services.   The workshop will include information on how to use the latest online grants information resources such as “Grants.gov” a central clearinghouse for over 1,000 grant programs and access to approximately $400 billion in annual awards.   The program is free and open to the public.

For reservations and further details contact Rep. Delahunt’s office toll-free at 1-800-794-9911. Delahunt has recently sponsored forums in Orleans and on Martha’s Vineyard.
